Itinerary

DAY 1:
Reception and transfer to the city of Iquitos. Opportunity to visit the city and learn about the economic boom of rubber exploitation at the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. The legacy of the rubber era can still be seen in the city’s architecture and its elegant mansions, including the extravagant Iron House, designed by Eiffel. Iquitos is the main access to unique biosphere reserves that are subject to constant scientific research and the development of ecotourism. Lodging in the city of Iquitos.

DAY 2: Arrival at the district of Pebas and we continue by boat for 25 minutes towards the Community of Pucaurquillo.
Reception and welcome by the Boras ethnic groups. Accommodation with families and share a local lunch.
14:00 Meeting in the Maloca (local community) with indigenous women.
16:00 Experiential workshop “Getting to know Chambira” led by a Huitoto artist

DAY 03: Breakfast. Walk through the surroundings of the Peruvian Amazon to identify flora and collect (optional fishing by boat). In the afternoon, getting to know the llanchama (tree bark) and art with natural dyes with an indigenous artist from the Community of Pucaurquillo.
Local lunch, dinner and accommodation in a family home.

DAY 4: Local breakfast. Free morning to socialize with the ethnic groups.
10:30 Departure by boat to the district of Pebas to continue by boat to Iquitos. Transfer to accommodation in Iquitos.
