Laguna Huamantay

The Huamantay Lagoon, is surrounded by imposing glaciers that are part of the Andes mountain range, among these the majestic Nevado Salkantay Huamantay that when it melts gives rise to the splendid Huamantay lagoon, connect with nature, enjoying the flora and fauna.

The Huamantay Lagoon has a maximum height of 4200 meters above sea level and a total distance of 8 km

Itinerary

Our tour will start between 4:30 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. and then we will go aboard our transport to the district (approx. 1:40 a.m.). Arriving at this small and picturesque town we will have our breakfast and then some free time to use the hygienic services, buy hydrating drinks and snacks. Later we will continue our trip for 1 additional hour to Soraypampa with an altitude of 3900 meters above sea level, (Starting point of the walk to the Lagoon). Our Adventure begins with a panoramic view of the Salkantay and Huamantay mountains, where we will have a brief description of the walk, recommendations and indications provided by our guide before beginning the ascent; Once ready we will begin our journey to Lake Huamantay located at 4300m, after the ascent of approximately one hour and a half, we will be able to appreciate the magical lagoon at the foot of the Huamantay mountain, that is where we will have the respective explanation of the place and of course free time for photographs, enjoy and explore the shores of the turquoise lagoon. Once satisfied with the majesty of this place, we will return to our vehicle that awaits us in Soraypampa, and then we will go to the town of Mollepata where a delicious lunch will await. Finally, we will return to the city of Cusco, ending our tour at 5:00 pm approx.
