Climate

The climate is cold and dry with two seasons. Winter, from May to October, is characterized by cold nights and sunny days, with nighttime temperatures often dropping below 0°C. Spring, from December to March, is the rainy season. It is recommended to visit Puno before or after this period. The average annual temperature is 8.4°C. The highest temperature is recorded in November at 16.8°C, while the lowest occurs in July at -1.3°C.

Itinerary

Transfer to the port, where you will board a comfortable motorboat; the guide (Spanish / English) will take you to see the floating islands of the Uros (30 min trip), before arriving at Amantani (approx. 2 ½ hours), where the Amantani families will be waiting for you to do the hike (30 min uphill) to local houses Amantani Island Andina to enjoy a lunch prepared by the islanders; then rest and settle in rooms that are at the foot of the upper of the island and see the Inca ceremonial temples Pachamama and Pachatata; it is also possible to see one of the best sunsets in the world; then return to the local homes for dinner, and at night you can dance together with the families (the welcome party is optional and depends on the physical condition of the traveler).

8:00 am. Beautiful day to have breakfast, go to the port of Amantani to start the trip to the Taquile Island, at the foot of the square, where you will have the best views of the island. Lunch and finally return to the Taquile port.

1:00 pm. Return to Puno to arrive around 4:00 pm.
